Monster Hunter Wilds Decoration Planner

Wilds splits decorations into armor jewels (fit armor slots Lv1–3) and weapon jewels (fit weapon slots). Look up what grants a skill, what slot it needs, and plan exactly which jewels to farm for a target build.

Look up a skill
Farm planner

Add the skill levels your build still needs after armor - the planner picks the exact jewels and totals the slot budget your armor must provide.

Crafting materials for decorations are not in the source dataset (wilds.mhdb.io does not expose them) - use the wiki link on each jewel to check its materials. This gap is intentional and visible rather than guessed.

How to use the decoration planner

  1. Check a skill: pick it in “Look up a skill” to see every jewel that grants it - armor jewels and weapon jewels are listed separately, each with the slot level it needs.
  2. Build a target list: in the farm planner, add the skill levels your armor doesn't already cover (check totals in the set builder first).
  3. Read the farm list: the planner picks the cheapest jewels that reach your target and totals the slot budget (e.g. “needs 3× Lv3 slots”). A warning appears when decorations alone can't reach a level - some skills only come from armor, charms or set bonuses.
  4. Farm it: copy the list, and use the wiki link on each jewel for its crafting materials (not in the game-file dataset - stated, not guessed).

Example: planning Flayer Lv3

Target Flayer Lv3: only the Flayer Jewel [3] grants it (Lv1 per jewel), so the plan is 3× Flayer Jewel [3] consuming 3× Lv3 slots. If your armor has just two Lv3 slots, the remaining level has to come from a piece or charm instead - exactly the trade the slot budget makes visible.

How it works

Jewel data comes from the game files via wilds.mhdb.io (snapshot 2026-10-11): 361 decorations - 66 armor jewels and 295 weapon jewels, each with its slot requirement and granted skill levels. A jewel fits a slot of at least its own level (a Lv3 jewel fits any Lv3+ slot; a Lv1 jewel fits everything). Farm plans prefer the most granted levels per jewel, then the lowest slot, so big slots stay free - the same greedy rule the builder's quick-fill uses. Limitations: decoration crafting materials are not exposed by the source API (flagged in the UI), and weapon jewels are listed for reference but only armor jewels feed the planner.

Decoration FAQ

Can armor jewels go into weapon slots?
No. Wilds separates armor jewels (armor slots) from weapon jewels (weapon slots), and each kind only fits its own slots. Within armor, a jewel needs a slot at least its own level: a [3] jewel only fits a Lv3 slot; a [1] jewel fits any slot.
Which skills have no decoration at all?
Some armor skills - like Rice Ball or Blight Resistance in the current snapshot - have no armor jewel and can only come from armor pieces, charms or set bonuses. The planner says so explicitly instead of leaving you hunting for a jewel that doesn't exist.
Why are there no crafting materials on the jewels?
The game-file API (wilds.mhdb.io) doesn't expose decoration recipes. Rather than guessing monster materials, every jewel links to its community-wiki page for materials - the same honesty policy behind every dataset gap on this site.
How many jewels can I actually slot?
Depends on your armor: of the 582 high-rank pieces in the snapshot, 512 have at least one decoration slot (up to three, levels 1–3). The set builder shows and validates every slot as you equip pieces.

Where these numbers come from

Armor, skills, decorations and charms are extracted from the game files via wilds.mhdb.io (snapshot 2026-10-11); sharpness multipliers are cited from the community sources on the data & sources page. The math runs entirely in your browser - no accounts, no tracking. If a value disagrees with your game, cross-check it against the community wiki; that's what the wiki links on every row are for.
